beware of scammers

classified section should have a buyer beware listing of know scammers ...I was nearly taken by one just today responding to a wanted ad I posted

 

Much like furniture stores that "go out of business" for 6 months, then change names... trying to maintain a list of baddies would be nearly impossible as the scammer would just change names. Better that we all educate ourselves on what to look for to ID a scam, and what tools and methods we can use to protect ourselves. Many of those things have been discussed at length here, and in the "Afraid of fraud? Protect yourself" post at the top of every classifieds forum.
