I think Jamco is for the lazy and inexperienced, If I was to go to all the trouble and had to have discs..I would just clip the front, hell of alot cheaper...and it's great that you've never had a problem with your 2 link suspension on 30+ cars, however, I will continue to use the Tri-4 link.
matt, everythings centered fine just the wheels are touching the top. reason i was wondering was i heard that G78's were a bit taller than the 7.10's. oh well guess it's time for more cutting! thanks for the reply i'll go and measure the 7.10 now i'm curious to get the actuall height of it.
Here is what we do to get the cars so low. two shockwaves and a four link. Our frames are made by us and have a nine inch notch in them. then a full custom floor is built to replace the old. if you have any questions please call us, 512-331-6500.
Charlie is putting together a kit for sale, it would include, full floor pans from trunk to toe boards, seat riser, mid and rear tunnel, trans tunnel and firewall. We are also fab'ing and selling 3-peice inner rockers, every Merc needs these replaced. Im sure we could make a few things for you if you need it before the kit is finalized. Call Charlie tomorrow and ask 512-331-6500. we are starting on a new floor tomorrow. The floor above is one i designed and built. Not bad for my first one! its what the patterns are made from.
Jag series 2 front end blended into original chassis, 2" notch at rear with triangulated 4 link. small mods to rear section of tunnel, does sit close to shaft at the deflated height, but nothing crazy required, just a bit of a splice, tweak and replate. yes, the radials cheat the drop a bit (as opposed to a 28"tyre)
Drewfus, VERY interested in finding out more info on the Jag front end. What years are compatible with the Merc frame?
I used the same method as Matt said. Lowered uprights in the front, bought the kit from Airride to put bags in the front, then a triangulated four-link in the rear. Can't lay frame in the front with the stock suspension ( but that's what a channel job is for).
im just about ready to chop the floor out of mine to start bagging it, has anyone got any photos of the trunk floor to figure out how much i need to chop out.
You'ld be hard-pressed to fine a guy more into Mercs than me,but I hate airbags! I know lots of guys like them, and that's okay with me,but they're just not my deal. Slddnmatt has done some really nice set-ups. He has some great pic's of his work. Maybe he'll show them.
ebfabman did you have to cut up the floor at all with the c10 rear suspension? Also what is the year of nova subframe
The stock cross member would have fit if I wanted to use it and the stock seat fits too. There is a half inch of clearance for the driveshaft when laying frame. The good thing about a four link is no side movement on the rear end when raising and lowering it due to the panhard bar. This one is set up for a 28 inch tall tire
