trying to figure out what the best seat to use for my 31 roadster build is?? I have a flat floor in the roadster, not the stock seat riser but could still put that in, my concern with the stock seat is a person seems to sit fairly high and i would like to sit a bot lower. I want to keep a stock seat look, its a traditional type build
I had the stock seat riser in my 30 roadster and made the seat bottom and back to fit me. Used plywood , upholstery webbing and foam.
I have a seat out of a 80s-90's Chrysler minivan. It the little short seat behind the driver. I actually found the seat setting on the side of the road. I just had it reupholstered and it fits perfect in my 28 Model A PU. I could sent dimensions and pictures if interested. I have it mounted on the stock seat riser with hinges so I could have some storage. Works great for a small tool box, couple qts of oil and so forth. Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
My Pops used the original riser and I made a plywood bottom with webbing. The trim guy made the back after my dad sat in it so it fits him just right. This is the only picture I have that shows a bit of the back.
The search feature is great on this one. Just searched "model A seat" and got pages of results. Good luck with your project.
Just ordered a frame a few days ago from Bengel's. Bob's a great guy to deal with. Metaltwister is his forum name. A lot of info here: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/...model-a-rollpans-bengels-hot-rod-prod.615201/
