Gentlemen: I would like to run an Autolite 2100 2 barrel carb (356 cfm) on my stock 300 six. What would be the best intake manifold to use with it? I plan to use split EFI exhaust manifolds with true dual exhaust. Also, i am open to suggestions for a low RPM torque/good-mileage cam. Thanks to you all for your input....jack

I used an Offy with a Carter 9400s four barrel on mine. REALLY improved power and fuel economy over the Holley 1 barrel.

carbking: thanks for your response. 400s Carter is a rare carb, isn't it? I like the size (CFM) of it. When you say Offy, do you meam the C-series? thanks again,...jack

The 400 CFM Carters are available. You can use either 9400s or 9410s. The 9410 has an EGR port and a plug if you don't need the EGR port; otherwise identical.

I don't remember the part number or series for the Offy. I just called the speed shop and asked for an Offenhauser intake for a 300 CID Ford 6.

I used the Offy Dual Port intake with a Holley 500 cfm 4-barrel. The 3x2 Hedman Header and Comp 270H Cam really caused the old 300 to come alive. I also put a 1 inch phenolic spacer (not shown in the pic) under the carb in order to gain linkage clearance.

The Autolite 2100 is a fantastic carb, and I know from experience that those work great over a wide band on the small ford sixes--200 cubes--but I think a 300 is going to be underfed on 356 cfm. Unless of course you don't plan on any high-RPM use (over, say 3500 revs), in which case it won't matter.

I ran a 300 with a Clifford Research intake and headers. I ran a Holley 4 barrel 425 cfm carb from a T-Bird. It really livened the engine up and got some better mileage. You have to consider that the 6 is only 2 cubes smaller than a small block ford 302 so you should be able to do the same things to your 6 as a V8.

If he doesn't reply to your post, you might want to send a PM to The Frenchtown Flyer. He knows quite a bit about the 300" 6 cyls.

    Later, Kinky6

Nevermind, you do want low-rpm. In that case, you can't beat a 2100. Check clifford performance for an intake, they make beautiful stuff.

Jack you want to run a manifold that is split front 3 back 3 thats like using a 180 degree manifold on a v8.

For low RPM the Offy dual port is good. It splits the primary and secondary on a 4bbl.
