Hey guys....I was wondering if you might make some suggestions on the best maker/vendor for a bug screen for a '34 Ford grill. I see two types on the internet....one by California Car Covers that involves a twist on the front of the mesh screen and the other is one I see on Yogi's website by Wardlow. This one has coiled springs that you hook through the screen onto the back of your grill teeth. Not sure if Wardlow is still in active though. It's not an original Ford grill but an Outlaw that follows the same shape of the opening. Thanks in advance for your input. 34 home after first wash front aug 4 2022 good.jpg

  2. Wardlow makes a good product. The bug screen for my car is one of theirs and it’s at least 30 years old if not older.

Julianno's, the seat belt people, make bug screens for 32-37 Fords. I supplied the size of my Model A rad shell and she made me two for it. They are very well made.

I have a Wardlow bug screen for my Deuce roadster and it works well. The spring clips just push in and grab the back of the grill. When I remove it, I just roll it up and put it in a plastic bag. Keeps all sorts of crap from your radiator.

I have often thought of inventing a pull down screen, like a window blind, that attaches to the top of the radiator (behind the grill) and has a pull string. You get to your show, retract the mesh. Get ready to leave, pull it down and secure it.
