So fellas after I had the 3 month old tube coil on my model A go bad this morning it got me wondering... what is the best bang for the buck tube coil? Preferably external resistor since I have a 6v but if guys have input on strictly 12v coils that's fine too.

The cylinder shaped coils that almost every traditional hot rod should have on it.

Bosch VW Blue coils if still available used to be fairly reasonable and reliable. Paint them any color you like. No problems at some fairly high 4 cylinder RPMs for me.
Bought a black coil of unknown brand at a Napa store a few years ago but it wasn't cheap.

I was thinking of using one of the Pertronix Flamethrower coils. Around here I have always heard of them as tube coils. When I hear canister I think it comes apart like an oil filter.
