Most people don't drive their hot rods that much, that far, so beating these parts up are probably a 40%/60% deal with failure (40% being the failure). And the more the car is driven the percentage goes up.

How many people on the HAMB have a heat dropped axle? I mean....the list will go on for days and days and days....

How many of those axles have ever failed? I've been on this message board for 5 or 6 years now and I've never seen a failed or broken original Ford axle that was heated and dropped.

And believe it or not...alot of guys beat the living shit of their cars with these kind of axles...and pile the miles on...and rip them down the freeway like maniacs

He knows what's pretty goin' down the freeway....I presume they are testing 70 year old Ford axles taxiing on the runways at NASA.

Always looked 'pretty' to me...at least from the driver's seat on fenderless cars.
Drove 'em in Santa Clara, too. My grandparents owned the 1,000,000 acre parcel that is now from Scott Blvd. to San Tomas Exp'wy. (between El Camino Real and Santa Clara-Sunnyvale Rds., right across the street from Moffet Field and NASA.)
Coffin Rd. was on their property...we used to drag race there at night.

We might have observed those axle antics on the same tarmac! Small world! (different axles)
