One sure sign of spring is the Bellevue Ford Meet, the official season kick off run. With gray skies and temps around 60 or less, it did not feel like spring, but who cares... Bellevue Ford Meet 2008 We met at the Woodinville Costco for the drive to Bellevue. Paul brought his "new" 5W. I had a chance to buy this car in Idaho in 2001...'Oh well, it has a good home now. Darryl's "Bloody Mary". I have threatened to steel it and buff it out ! Mark the Markster brought his super cool model A out under it's own power ! After NINE ! flatheads, he found one that is running good. Scott's (Speednazi) car to the left. As with any rod meet, it's the coming and going that is the most fun. Damn, he is gaining on me,,, Hot rods, fore and aft... There is just something about seeing hot rods two wide coming down the road. Bloody Mary in good company. Kim's new 1964 in the back. Sporting a V8, stick shift and a Dixco tach.
'smore: Even though the gray skies and cool temps keep some folks away, some cool iron rolled in through the morning. Low mileage original...I am so jealous ! Amocat's A roadster. Can get any more pre-war than that ! An exercise in detail work. Some other Ford products that caught my eye... This Skyliner got my attention for the simple reason that it was NOT totally optioned out. No tutone paint, no deluxe wheel covers, no huge side mirrors with lights...just a straight and honest Ford. Love it. OK, how about some GM stuff? Another incredible restoration was this Mercury. Attention to detail was amazing. Not a single flaw on this one. There you have it. It was a good day.
SOOOOOOOOOO glad they put another grill on that yeller deuce! Looks 100% better. Wish I was there, looks like a blast!
Rolf, Great pics! One of the funnest Ford meets yet. Doug's hospitality was great too. Any of the BBQ?
I think I was one of the first to sign up, but I may have some family stuff to deal with that weekend. I will know later, hate to miss it.
I live a mile down the 9 from this and never even knew of it going on. I guess I need to get one of my project cars finished
Boy, would I like to get my hands on that bone stock '32 five window, would make the present owner cry but it sure would be fun. Great pics Rolf. Thanks everyone for coming over. Sorry we didn't have Eric's famous potato salad but he was a no show, going to stop inviting him.
That was the first time I had ever seen AMOCAT's roadster. I LOVE IT! I could hear you guys at Doug's all the way at my house
they call me 'tater salad. I was in a gravel parking lot at the Goodguys show, selling off rusty junk. (almost paid for the beer everyone drank) Looks like a fun day.
I didn't know Paul got the yellow coupe, I see he's already personalizing it, he does some fine upholstery work, no doubt this car will be getting some threads soon
Damn, I forgot to shoot his new threads. He used some NOS early 50's Chev woven vinyl, looks totally right. I mean, he could have gone with gray tweed too, I hear it's all the rage.
There will be no shots of the white 5 window or the black 5 window. They are super secret. You know, the wheel has been reinvented and stuff..........
I totally agree with you,Rolf, about the drive there and back being one of the best parts of ANY show. Great pic's. Makes me want to build a Hotrod even more...
I could not change that car. That is how I feel about survivors. But it is sure nice to see Paul make his changes. The new seats are Killer!! He is so good at what he does. A true craftsman. Rolf, Thanks for the pics. Steve Glucoft Amocat Speed Emporium
Thanks Rolf for the pics. Looks like a lot of fun. Hope to join you guys next year with my Ford when I return stateside. Cheers!
