Pileup Sunday, my girlfriend & I were heading to breakfast, admiring a couple remaining cars in the hotel parking lot. We saw a real nice '40 Ford. Shiny black with some nice striping. We were taking an artsy/tourist shot of our reflections in the slightly dusty paint when the owner & his entourrage came out of the restaurant. Turns out it was Roadstar & HotRod Lady Cruiser & a coupla others I can't remember. Nice folks. We shot the breeze for a while & HRLC left us with some homemade chocolate chip cookies. We both decided we need to make it to a coupla shows in MI. Thanks. Too bad I got my car going later that day & not BEFORE the Pileup.
It was our pleasure to meet you and your gal. We had a nice time shooting the breeze with you two also. It's just a shame it wasn't sooner in the weekend. Glad to hear you finally got your car going. Looking forward to see you in Michigan next summer driving it! You'll have to stop by here and visit cookie baking headquarters.
I enjoyed meeting you two folks as well. Now I want to see that Artsy photo of you two lovebirds in my decklid
Damn...I'm in Detroit every 3 or 4 months and STILL haven't had any of these world famous chocolate chip cookies!
Ah, you can't see Denise without having a cookie! (I said cookie, darlin', not quickie ) Sorry to highjack your thread MrE, but I ran into a couple of friends on the weekend who were at the PileUp and wondered if any HAMBers might have run into them. They showed up to surprise me, but I didn't make it. I had a hotel and no ride, they had a ride and no hotel, I think they ended up at the Days Inn. Lotsa tattoos, not too mainstream looking... which doesn't narrow it down, except... Randy is in a wheelchair (former world champion and Olympian, I might add). Anyone see 'em?

A phone call or PM to inform me of your arrival and the possibility of cookies greatly increases. I would consider it an honor to bake for the infamous Barnett, Jime', and Jeff. [/ QUOTE ] Tats were very "mainstream" at the Pileup, and yes I do remember seeing a fellow in a wheelchair. The reason I remember it so clearly is because I took a second, longer look at him cuz I met a HAMBer at the HAMB Drags this year in a wheelchair and I thought for a split second it might have been him. I think I might have even gotten him in the background of a photo if I remember correctly. I'll look through my photos and see. If so I'll send it to you. Bummer you weren't able to attend. It would have been great to see you again. I've been MIA on the Canadian Rodder site this summer. So much to do and so little time. Keep me up to date if they have a meet and greet this winter. I'd cross the bridge again for that.
Thanks Denise. I've been pretty much MIA on Canadian Rodder myself, but if anything comes up I'll let you know. I got a fierce hankerin' for some cookies! I knew something was up when I saw Randy last weekend and he was wearing a BLEED t-shirt.
