My 10 year old daughter is my car show buddy, she loves Rat Fink and AC/DC. I've just started her welding lessons.

She and my son also like riding cycles. My wife still rides in our caddy even though the fumes bother her. They are awesome.

By the way, I love all the posts on this thread, what life is all about to me, old cars, motorcycles and family

Being a Dad is still cool especially this weekend when I go to celebrate my Sons 40th Birthday. He shared my creative interest in cars and went on to become a engineer for GM. Last year we found my old 37 Chevy Custom Kingcab pickup that he is now the proud owner of.

  8. I really love these. The best part of HOT RODDING is sharing it with the kids! They think the old rods are both Fun and cool. This is the wife and kids on Whites Ferry in Md. on one of our many 027.jpg 025.jpg road trips. Keep posting these. Thanks Ron...

Not my rig. It belongs to a feller FAR wealthier than I will ever be.

My kids would love to roll it to school, but I am more fitting in a short bus. I am most certainty not the smartest guy you have ever talked to!

Hi el shad.Still, its nice to dream.HOWEVER,a person has to be able to tell the difference between a dream and reality. And that usually happens when the alarm clock goes off in the morning.
    Good luck.Have fun.Be safe.

It is quite the thing, raising the future of hot rodding. Here's the dude, when I'm gone, he makes mom open up the '39 Ford so he can turn the wheel and shift the gears...

This is my son Kyle helping me with my project. So far I have had him practicing TIG and MIG welding and using the lathe and mill. He just seems to get it if you know what I mean. He's such a sports guy but likes it out in the garage too.[IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

Being a Dad is fun when I designed and built a truck with my Family in the 90's. Drove the crap out of it for years and even got my Grandsons to enjoy it. Sold it and then helped my Son find it and buy it back a few years later.
Then getting a call from my Son last week after he put the truck back on the road and drove it to work and its seasons first Cruise Night.
Looking forward to traveling with one of my cars to visit my Son and Cruising with him.

Well, my oldest is now 10 and the youngest is 7. We were on the Hot Rod Power Tour (long haul) when my wife was 7 months pregnant (in the twin turbo'd Camaro without AC!). We were at the dragstrip watching door slammer shootout with a jet car and top fuel digger running the week before the oldest was born. My wife was "pushed" into labor a couple hours after helping me bleed the brakes in the wagon. Went to a cruise in the week after he was born. Went to a car show a couple hours away two weeks after he was born. Been on 3 Power Tour (long hauls) since the kids have been born. Been to MANY shows and racing events all over with the kiddos as well.
They've always been in the garage with me, even in the "jumper seats" before they could get around. Kids are great!! image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg

Best thing that ever happened to me. My daughter is 43 and we just spent her April school vacation repairing her porch floor. She has decided she can't possibly live without a miter saw.

image.jpeg Being a dad has always been cool. Mine was a precision machinist wind tunnel model maker that had his own shop. He passed when I was 19. Mine loved my LSR racing and took away my records when he started driving. He was in the Bonneville 200 MPH Club before me. He had his own dream of driving his own dirt circle track car and now I'm the pit crew for him. Man do they grow up fast. His 2 boys are US Marines. Have with them all you can.
