I sent in my registration before Christmas! This is a great show! It has grown bigger every year, but still has the same vibe.
I don't like to preregister, cuz I drive a roadster from two hours south, and sorta need a favorable weather forecast. Love the show, my first time last year. I heard that cars were turned away last year if they got there after noon, is that true? How early do I need to get there, if I don't preregister? Rich
We got there last year At around 11:30 and it was pretty crowded, but they still let us in ('57 Ranchero near the back lot). After us only 6-8 cars were let in I think. Was a neat show. It's about A 3 hour drive for us. Weather permitting we'll be back.
Yeah, it's kid friendly. I've taken my 9 year old daughter the last 3-4 years and she has had a good time. They will let the kids in the bar to use the rest room or cool off in the air conditioning. Don't let them hang out too long in there...it's still a bar. There should be other kids there for yours to hang out with. Good show....don't miss it.
the atmosphere is great for the show, as far as turning cars away, its better to get there as early as possible because the space is very limited, King Sonic is a great band to see there as well. see yall there.
the city has let the show promotters shut down the street in front of the tavern for the show adding space for atleast 100 cars, so dont let space hold you back!
We stopped by the show last year with my son (10yrs old then) and we had a good time walking around and taking pictures. There is usually a good show upstream in Madison, IN along the river that Saturday too. Madison is one of my favorite old-style towns, lots of awesome historical homes and old storefronts, places to eat, and music places/bars. Last year we camped out on the Kentucky side of the river Saturday night and headed for Louisville Sunday morning. Weather was great!
I hope to be there, especially since im pre-registered. Well, If my car isn't, I definatly will be. What a blast of a day. I just hope for no rain this year after the show! As for being "kid friendly" it is at a bar afterall, but it is a laid back, usually HOT kentucky day. The bar is AWESOME. Its three levels, and has AC. Also, Spenelli's(sp?) Pizza is worth the trip, and buy by the slice, they are massive. I went this december just for some pizza. Such a good show, I'll be hitting the roads really early. If the way people were taking the info cards at Indy WOW is any sign to attendance this year, id say it will be full. Now, to get those olds headlights on my car...
Had a good time last year...10 of us went from thr Bubba's Hot Rod Shop... As a teaser...Here are my shots from last year.... http://s132.photobucket.com/albums/q27/tierod_bill/Beatersville%2008/
