BB Chevy serpentine belt questions

Does anybody have a recommendation for a BB chevy, short water pump, serpentine belt set up that does not cost a fortune? I have long water pump clearance issues that I am trying to resolve.

I suggest you don't use one at all. If you're building something old school, and that's all I see on this board, why would you not use a normal v-belt set up?

Not a HAMB friendly item. It was mid 80's when most GM engines came with them.

 

although trucks got them later than cars, and big blocks were only installed in trucks by then, and they all had long water pumps.
