Was at GNRS and heard from a few reliable sources that champagne deal did not come through.

I think he just sobered up..........during the immediate post-purchase interview he seemed a bit "impaired".

As an aside.....I could not imagine in my wildest dreams that the Batmobile would bring more than a small fraction of the sale price. It's a @&$#% movie prop with no real substance.

  14. About a week ago, I saw a Batmobile driving down the 15 freeway in Temecula, CA. It had a February temporary registration sticker on it. I tried to follow it to the Batcave, but he lost me.

I bet that made George's teeth fall out! Maybe the Rust Free term really meant Free Rust.

Deal fell through? What exactly does that mean (specifically in this case)?

Wondering the same thing. Wondering how much it cost the guy to "back out"? Unless the car turned out not to be as represented...

...it means that the buyer or seller backed out for some reason. Every auto auction has terms and conditions, perhaps either the car, seller or buyer failed to meet them.

I know what it means. But I'm asking for specifics in this case.

Until I see the info in writing, I'm skeptical of this rumor.

^ oh yeah. totally agree with |both of ya you there. I'm not seeing anything in the googlesphere about this deal falling through. I'd love to know why. I doubted it was worth 4.6 mil, but the car has some history behind it being the original and not a repo. Made me wonder the same thing when I saw it.

Heard it was Dave Hester who bought it. Yuuup.

A fellow I know from Toronto sold his competition Ferrari Daytona at BJ and the buyer backed out later. It would not have been because of the car, it was the real deal. Maybe the whole thing is a reality show.

I was watching and figured it would never get past 250k. The thing that shocked me the most was the awful body work below the side body line (where it goes flat black). It was so bad that it waved back at you!!! It's a shame that they fucked up the original Lincoln concept to make that!!!
