Looks like they went belly up. No more Demon carbs. Larry T http://www.dragzine.com/news/barry-grant-inc-ceases-operations/ OK, I now see it's been covered, sorry bout that.
I missed the last thread but a good read and explanation. Sorry to hear another US company going down. What was the brief mention of Champion Spark Plugs going out?? And was the other thread closed because of ????
I could use the number for the Demon two barrel for my buddy, And I wasnt able to send ya a P.M. said restriced or not recieving.....Roach.
I hate to see any American company shut down and people out of work during these tough times, but they should have treated their customers better. I love my Demon carb, but they were real pricks when talking to them on the phone. Karma
You are not the first person I have heard say that about their customer service. I too hate to see them go, but It should be said that It was an American Company with overseas production.
I would suspect that demon carbs are going to be near worthless in the future. Unless rebuild parts will be available. Maybe I'm wrong.
I thought many Holley parts interchange with the Demon. I may be wrong. There used to be guy from Barry Grant who would come on here and he would give solid technical advice. A real shame to lose any automotive related business nowadays.
Or maybe suggesting they deserved their fate (eg karma) and so putting a lot of fellow americans (maybe even hambers) out of work, sits OK with you. Kick em while their down aye ..
X3!!! My conversation with them ended with me telling the knob in their "customer service" dep to go F them self and then I took that pos carb off my car and sold it and the parts that I had for it for $60 at the Portland swapmeet. Also sand in a new carb is NOT a good thing... Good riddance!!!
Yep. All we need is one more post about the economy, politics or off shore manufacturing and this one will be gone too.
I disagree. Thread has been: "BG out of business" "Who cares BG sucked" "Saying BG sucked is baaaaaad they'll shut down " Seems to me that calling out the companies, cars, people, places and opinions that suck is the stock-in-trade of this place?
Wish I had the roughage ($$) to buy out all their carb rebuild kits which I felt were of better quality..
FWIW I like my Demon...which is on an OT car, but still I like it. I have a ton of instructions for it giving all kinds of scenarios and fixes but it reads like the "Handbook For The Recently Deceased". I gave up on it until I saw the guy from BG on here and he put it in simple terms for me and my problem was solved. I wish I would have kept the PM.
