With the death of George Barris today I thought I'd start a thread about all the cars he customized over the years. Here's one to start it off.

The Monkeemobile was designed and built by Dean Jeffries. NO disrespect to George Barris, RIP.

I wanted to post a pic of a sign with his name on it, this is the only one I have.
    RIP Mr. Barris.

  7. How about some non movie prop cars?

  8. Probably the most iconic and well known would be the Bat Mobile. HRP

But this is the kinds of cars that put Barris Kustoms on the map.

    The Golden Sahara.

    The Hirohata Mercury

He also bought the Crisman Bothers Coupe and built it into the car for the Doby Gillis T.V. show before it was bought back and restored.

Ah, The Grecian. Takes some kind of vision to tackle a four door Stude.

  17. I was in Van Nuys, Ca. in 1964 and visited George's shop, one wall was loaded with photos of the cars he build/modified, those pics today would be most incredible, a gold mine!

  18. I bet George is glad that he did not design that Monkeemobile. Thats one of the most hideous monstrosities I have ever seen.

I can't believe no one has mentioned the Lopez, Matranga, Marcia Campbell or Larry Ernst cars.
