What a barn buster! I wouldn't change shit on it, just make it purrrrr, and enjoy a piece of history. If you modify it, it's just another car.
2 cent is all I got.

  12. Sweet jeebus. Vacuum it out and go. Do see a pro about that asbestos-like material, though.

Man that is cool! And all that history already documented for you, just incredible. Definitely needs to be restored as it was in its racing days. Awesome find.

If anyone here has a "STRAY CATS" Rant & Rave album cover you'll notice that slim Jim Phantom has a Freeport Long Island "Rod Snappers" car club jacket slung over his shoulder. Just a point of interest

Dream Find , you are very lucky ,I love all the history

  24. Since it's was registered as a 59 Ford, does that mena you can get '59 YOM plates? That would be VERY cool if you could... not many Model A's can run '59 plates...

  25. Just dawned on me why it looks so stubby. Has a 40 type axle with the spring mounted in front of the axle. With the headlites lowered and a dropped axle with the spring over it would look deadly. It would be a toss up keeping it original or making it look better. Nice find though. Pat

I don't have an Email address for Ed Eaton, but I think he could help you. Ed was Division 1 director for NHRA, and was from Long Island NY.

I'd restore it to how it looked in 1950.

Anybody have any idea where those breathers came from? I have one of those air breathers. If anybody has one or two they would like to sell I would be a buyer.
