Damn cool Vette!
Bump! Someone must remember this car!
Great buy!! looks awsome and will be very fun.
Wish I could help with the history but cannot. Really nice find.
I am jealous congrats
best of luck
A couple different guys stopped in the shop and said it looked just like the old "Fred's Plastic Toy" from East Hampton, CT...anyone remember that car?
The "new" engine is in...
explain the dual odometers please?
The one in the OEM tach is rev's per mile, not an odometer (very rare)
Good looking motor, what type of distrubutor is that?
It's a 1963 Jackson Roto Faze, dual coil unit mounted on a factory fuel injection base with tach and fuel pump drive.
Not really sure but i think Freds was a 57 ill' ask Keith he might know
Congrats on the Corvette. I watched it on eBay and had asked the owner a couple questions, but never got a reply to any of my messages. Car has a great look. Glad to see it wound up in good hands. Good luck with the project.
Very cool, will you bring it to Englishtown for old time drags or digs?
I'm no corvette guy but DAMN, that is bitchin!!!
Did the left valve cover clear the linkage embossment? I am having to run an extra gasket for clearance. Man a fre looks sharp! How does it run?
BTTT Still trying to identify the car!
We haven't run it yet, last owner of the engine said it ran great though, he's a friend of ours. Only thing that didn't fit well on top was the throttle arm, someone previously notched it to clear the valve cover a little.
Freds Plastic Toy...I sure would love to see pictures of that car. It had a wild paint job. Its been over 40 years since I wached it get loaded to go to the races. I was 10 years old.
Here is Fred's Plastic Toy, not sure yet if it's the same car...
We fired it up and it ran great, however the carbs leaked so I'm rebuilding them now, should be done today. Will post pics and maybe video this week once it's all done!
Early Vettes at NED early 70's
That thing is wicked sexy! Love it!
I can not believe I missed the first time around. I had this same set up in my 61 corvette and loaned it to "Woodrow" in Livingston NJ in about 1968. So Woodrow, where is it now??
I know you are still a car guy and should be on this forum. WTF
Could you post a larger version of the first picture? With the hardtop? Thanks,
It's all done! Engine runs great, tons of power. The throttle response is instant. The gears seem to be 4:88, judging by how many turns on the driveshaft to one revolution of the rear wheel, it's snappy. Now if we can just figure out some history!
Pure Chevy porn
That thing is soo killer. Glad to see her outta mothballs and back running.
Dean one more day till the Drag Racers Reunion will you be taking the Vette out Monday night?
Normally I say thumbs down to any vette... But that hing is sick!!! Nice find!! And I hope you piss off the local vette camps!!!
The blonde girl on the right is Larissa Reis...had my picture taken with her at the Arnold Fitness Classic this March...nicest rear end I have ever seen on a woman..
