It's kinda hard to tell , does it have a straight axel under it? Cool find.

If it was owned by the Paul Roberts that had the restored bronze 57 nomad in the Dayton Ohio area he unfortunately passed away a few years ago,it does look familiar as I think i seen it when I was at his barn looking at some parts. Someone from this area should know something about it. Jeff

Wow, what a cool car! No lettering on it, super clean body and lots of gofast goodies. That car doesn't need much of anything in my opinion.

  4. I'd say a dual quad!

Sounds like I should get in contact with Ohio George. One awesone thing about this car is, everything was chrome.. Everything: everything under the hood, all the suspension, everything. Of course the chrome is wasted, but still cool. We were told Roberts worked for a chrome shop.

WOW! That is a very, very neat car! I've always loved 57 150's and that one looks solid as hell. I love how the three gauges are mounted over the steering column. Probably has a nice center section in the rear axle. Check that out and good luck with your search. Hopefully somebody has some old photos.

We started to tear down the motor yesterday in an attempt to get the car running. We were told that the intake has never fit right after the heads were machined. We were expecting to see major signs of water in the motor. Shockingly, the motor is PERFECT. With the exception of a bent valve, that thing is nice inside. Once I get new gaskets and fix the valve we are going to reassemble everything and see what else she needs. It's looing good!

What a great find. That thing is super cool, wish I could find an old dragger with some history like that. I would have a hard time getting the cash out fast enough to pay for something like that.

I knew Paul years ago.I will ask some of his old friends to see if they remember the car.I believe Paul retired from GM.I do know he worked for the local Chev dealer about the time this car was raced.

I was born, raised, cruised & drag raced in Dayton, Ohio (I'm 67 now). Doubt if you will get much info from the original "GRUMPY" ( Ohio George), but you could check with Jack Holt in Dayton. I think he still has a Speed Shop on Springfield street. He ran a mean '57 Ford Custom Supercharged Paxton. Also Dick of Dicks Crank or Dave Middleton ( grad H.S. in '59 with him). Dave still builds the best HiPo motors around and can put you in contact with the right people. Tom

    Wow! Very nice find!
I've spent a whole year in trying to locate vintage stuff & build what you have in hand. Those pistons have the same dome height just like my old fuel injection Corvette TRW's at 11.00:1.

and no restoration or straight axle humbug either! .A clean up will leave that car as it should be,they're only original once. :)

I talked to someone who knew Paul and he said he did not race this car,it was raced locally but not by Paul. The car Paul raced was his nomad and they thought he still owned the 150 when he died exactly 2 years ago,he did take it to the old time drags at Kil kare but it looks to have been seriously raced by someone else. I think I saw this car at Burtonsville this weekend at the Church of the Holy Donut meet.
