That 55 is bada$$. I would go period correct 60`s on it, sleeper though. Did you find it in Ma. I`d love a 55 150, let alone a factory black one.

Wanda- Is this the one you have been talking about buying? If any changes are to be made, I would not hammer, or cut on that car. Get the back end down and fix the drivers seat side with original material and leave it alone!

As has been said, there are already plenty of modified 55's out there. IMO it would be a shame to change a perfect stock survivor.
Another option that hadn't been given would be to sell it to a collector and then buy a previously modded one and change as you see fit.

What is everybody's fascination with lowering everything?? Guess I am a real dinosaur,I remember when guys set up cars to look tough and have attitude. When did the roller skate look take over? Just wondering.

Yea, that one. Surprised he's had it this long, must be 4 months since he finished it! That motor is just what you need, a dual quad would be sweet. Or you could do the Dr Ray deal and go for the cross ram.

Sold this last March at Myrtle Beach - should have kept it - Texas/New Mexico business coupe - no back seat - no side view mirror, had to add it.

P.S. Have a perfect back seat I thought about putting in it - it's for sale.

That 55 is screaming for an SBC and a four speed.

    Steve,

I couldn't agree more. Your 150 and that seafoam green '57 have that brawny, tough stance that I remember as a kid in the late 60's and early 70's. I really love the look of your Chevy and if I had a little more capital available right now I'd be PM'ing you about selling it.

    Good luck with the car.

    Thor

PS: I would be a fan of putting in a small block in and leaving the column shift in it. You could always put the six back in it that way.

That just looks too nice to change it.:cool::cool: Hope that it doesn't become another "American Grafitti" wannabe.:eek::eek:

A hard hitting small block, munce 4 speed and a 9" ford rear would be in that car by spring if it was mine!! Did I mention the cheater slicks on the original steel wheels? That is one sharp Chevy!!

Alfin32 did a real nice job on his “original” 55 Chevy. All bolt in/on stuff.

Nice car! I like the stance too.
Why not hop up the six? It wouldn't perform like a SBC but it would perform ok and be something a bit different.

I like any 55 Chevy. Yours is no different, my dream is a 210 6 banger PG, but I don't think I would be any less happy with a nice old 150 just like yours, up in the air just the way it ought to be. Great car!

man this is awesome , gives me inspiration for my 150! hard to find pics of the originals like this. mine is getting a healthy small block , 2 4s, or a 3 deuce, muncie, and dog dishes. I love this rig , of yours keep it simple it makes it cooler to me, id probably leave that 6 in it. awesome find

The 6 is a great engine. If you decide to pull her, I would like to see a 409 in there.
