So here's the details as I've gotten them. I'll have the car in my shop tomorrow. The car has been in the same family almost since new. The current owners dad put the Model B motor and trans in it, 32 axle and spindles, juice brakes, pretty much all the stuff you see as it sits. The current owner street raced it in high school, not clear if it was with this running gear or not. The engine and trans were never fully installed, and it has swinging pedals under the dash with a hydraulic clutch leading me to believe it had a more impressive engine in it at some point in the past. At this point, it will get disassembled to see what shape everything is in, have H&H go through the banger, put overdrive in it, (Columbia?)and put it back together nice and shiny and new, as it sits now. So stay tuned, I will update as we go.

    image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg more details to come,
Have to get to a little league game. Back with the details, up there.

    Great work with that "find".

  5. So is that a 32--33 engine and '32 axle?

I bet that paint would shine up pretty good.

So it will be restored pretty much as it came in. B motor and trans, 32 front end, 40 ford brakes, and a Mitchell Overdrive. 35 wires. Nicest A frame I've ever seen. Actually the whole car is amazing. Not throwing many tricks at this one, removing the hanging pedals and putting frame mount pedals back in it.
The paint will probably shine up for the most part, but it's getting a full paint job. As it should. This car has been in the same family forever, and will remain there forever. Owner's father was a machinist, and from what I have seen a very good one. I will post pictures of the backing plate modifications done 50 or 60 years ago, and nicer than I've ever seen.

Great looking car, nice to see it getting an overdue overhaul. Guess the wood is in good shape, judging from the door fit. Bob

    Nice car!

I've seen old Fords that had swing pedals put in as part of their juice conversion. Even if there weren't any other hot rod mods. I guess some guys back then thought the 50's pedal setups were easier to adapt than an under the floor setup.

Damn she's in beautiful shape. I like how it's got a fuel bowl for it's fuel bowl.

Shame to remove that old paint, character like that doesn't happen overnight.

It's hard to believe that barn finds are still out there on 30's cars. That is one of the reasons I love this site. I get to imagine every barn find could have been me finding it, until I actually do find the one.

    image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg The engine mounts worked perfectly, so I just fixed em up a bit.

image.jpeg Gonna repurpose the original split bones hangers. The have nicely machined tapers in them for 11/16 tie rod ends.

Why the need to split the bones with a 4 banger?

    1) because it came that way to me as it was built 50 or so years ago.
    2) because there is no K member to mount a stock 32 wishbone to.
    3) because it's a Model B engine and trans with no wishbone mount like the original A had.
