Iknow i will catch some hell for this but i am thinking of going bare on my 50 , remarks, it will bare on the side handles emblems atenea, and trunck and hood
i think it would be neat. what about trim?? if you get rid of the trim, let me know, i need nicer trim for mine!
oh i forgot i made the good guys book this year from ft worth .. iknow that and $1.25 will buy a condom but i was happy
Probably a real bad idea. Are you drunk .... bored .... stoned maybe??? I do know a lot of us would be real happy to have a car that look as good yours. Maybe you need to flip it to someone less jaded and build yose'f a rat rod!
Rust would be my concern.I'm always worried about long term adhesion with straight clears. I don't know if there's a metal prep out there that goes on clear not blue-ish. Maybe clear powder coat?
Honestly, I never really understood the whole bare metal thing. I don't like the look myself and don't understand the reasoning behind it. Maybe I'm just too old fashioned. Nosed and decked and de trimmed looks good but bare metal just seems kind of silly to me.
I never hated the bare look when it was a really trick rod that was all steel and had spectacular metal work.....always thought it was kinda old skool cool to say hey its not another rubber hot rod.............but I don't think it would have the same impact on a post 39 Ride. Awesome looking 50 though....I'd keep some kinda paint on it..
I am a fan of the bare metal look when it is showcasing some awesome metal finished body mods. But when it is a basically stock bodied car, what's the point? It's like "Wow, Fisher really had some nice stampings"?
Showing off your work is one thing, but it's for those that are showing they're progress and still driving the car, your direction seems to be going backwards. Paint is a good thing.
I'd say keep it mild custom looking, unless its a hand-formed aluminum body which in this case it isn't so leave the paint.
took the words right out my mouth....But it's your car and you can do whatever you want with it.if you want your car in bare metal go for it..
Do you know how good the body work is underneath the paint? You may uncover some filler here and there, big job to get the body all straight enough so it will look right in clear. Paint it, bare metal is odd looking on a finished car. Doc.
No bare metal!! Do all the VVork you VVanna do and repaint the car. its a really nice car!!! Keep it that VVay, JUST MY OPINION !!!
