Hot Rods Banjo Steering wheel Repair?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Zombiefink, Sep 3, 2020.

  1. Hey guys,

So I've got a banjo steering wheel from a 47 buick and a few of the 'strings' are snapped, I've looked for how to's on how to repair em but everyone seems to be talking about cracked wheels etc and not so much the actual string repair. Any pointers? Cheers!!!

    Arent the spokes stainless?

  3. Yeah i think so. Im thinking to use some super nasty super glue worst case

  4. do not try to super glue them, they will break. There is flex in a banjo wheel, just how it is when you start putting leverage to them. If the spokes are broken, they need to be welded. Find some one with a TIG welder and they will be able to weld them back together.

  5. Easy mate thanks for the heads up, cheers!
