Technical Banger A and T motor differences

    I got a stupid question. I know a lot about flathead V8s but not anything about banger motors. Can anyone tell me the difference between model T motors and 28 - 31 motors? Do any parts interchange? Anything helps thank you

    Nothing interchanges...... 2 completely different motors.

    The A is a much more modern design- it has and oil pump! Really just an oil lifter!
    A crank will fit a T with a lot of machining

    T engine=20hp. '28-'31 A engine =40hp. '32-'34 B/C engine =50hp. Some of the later ones had counterbalanced cranks.
     
  5. 177 cubic inches in the Model T and 200 in the Model A. The Model A had a better transmission and there is a better selection of transmission adapters for the Model A. Do you have a project in mind?

  6. The A also had a water pump and the T had a thermosiphon.

  8. They made a "C" engine in about 1903, but I suppose that doesn't count. And then there is foreign production.
