I love swaps. Always look forward to the coverage from US based one, so here's some photos I took on the weekend at the biggest Aussie swap. All random, just things that took my fancy etc.
The 46-8 Ute looks nice As for the crusty old hotrodders, there is a lot of years between Swifty and Eddie
Hey flatoz, what's with this "crusty" thing ? And when did you put the fender skirts back on the Olds? Yes WiredSpider there's over 150 years between Eddie and I. He may not look it but he is the older one LOL
That red and white Pontiac Safari Wagon is absolutely beautiful; although I'm personally not too sure about the wheel choice. It has right hand drive, and I can see it has the 55-56 Chevrolet dash the RHD Pontiacs had. Did/does it have Chevrolet powertrain also? I would love to take a trip to Australia, but the only place my wife would go is Hawaii, and we've already been there. I'm guessing the motorbike is someone's "creation"; that it's not original, but it looks pretty darn close if it's not? Thanks for sharing the photos. I am Butch/56sedandelivery.
Hey Butch, drop the wife off in Hawaii and continue on down here. It's the middle of the hot rod season with plenty on and I bet it is warmer and drier than where you are. Supposed to be 93F here today. That bike had something like Springfield Cycle Works, N.Y pressed in the leather seat.
Butch, the bike looked ridge dige but who knows. As Swifty says it had something imprinted in the seat. I was just using my phone and it was hard to see so I didn't take a photo of it. I really liked the Ponti wagon, give me that over a Nomad any day. As to being crusty, well you are! And you should be back out in the shed working on that coupe, Not inside on the computer. It won't build itself. Skirts went back on a while ago. I thought I told you I did that, of course it was after I put the skirts on that the tyre sheded itself...
Heading back out to the shed now. Just had lunch and had to wait an hour for some etch primer to dry and now I'm going to put some 2K primer on the body, doors and grill.
Great pics. I had never heard of Ballarat until I saw "Dr. Blake Mysteries" on PBS the other night. I like the white and red sedan the doctor drives.
Not a Sloper to be seen. Closest thing was the 40 Standard Tudor which was an import and for sale for 20k.
