Balancer advice.

I need a new harmonic balancer on a mild (300hp) 350. What do you recommend. Fluidampener? Stock oem?

Stock iron will do just fine.

 

I'd use a 327/365 or 302/290 one myself... They're both the same and they check out at 8.00" dia. X 2.00" thick.. It's not easy finding those..

 

How do you determine which diameter to use?

 

I don't think it matters all that much. I tend to use what I have on hand, usually an 8", which was pretty common on trucks and hipo cars.

That is what I thought.

 

Just make sure your timing tab lines up with the balancer. At some point GM moved the mark and I always double check it with a piston stop.
