Years ago I had my Ford 292 bored out to .020 over. Paid for new pistons, rings, etc. The project got put on the back burner. The other day I took the pistons to a machine shop as there was a wee bit of corrosion on them. They measured them and found that two were collapsed. These were never dropped by me and sat on a shelf for many years. Anyhow, I think they were not measured when I purchased them from the original machine shop. New place searched and found that .020 over pistons would cost $480 CDN plus tax. I found a set on EBay that were made by Badger. Is/was Badger a good brand? The car will only be a cruiser so I don't need hi-po stuff.
Do they have to be .020" over ? https://www.ebay.com/itm/Sealed-Pow...e:Ford&hash=item2ca99289e4:g:8oUAAOSw-DFaCvS2 Maybe contact this seller if they have those.
Machinists term as the lower part of the shirt was a lot narrower than the top. 3.770 on top and 3.6? on the lower area. Probably dropped.
