I wonder what happens to that cockroach when the SUV tire blows out at 70mph?

...and good fabrication on something bad is wasted fabrication. You don't have to respect anything....

I'll take that motor for my '59, though.. :D

Hey Muttley, I really dig that Hebmüller Roadster !!! These hebs are so rare and expensive I´d rather buy a 32 3wd for that amount of money:D

Interesting post for sure.. The amount of work in the first bug is unreal..it's wild for sure..A little too much for me, but at the same time, that's what make's it what it is...
The silver one JustJoey posted the link to is cooler in my opinion..
    BUT!!
On a personal note, the one's JJ, Mutley and the blue one Graverobber posted...
    damn perfect!
I LOVE fenderless rod's, and i'll admit, i have seen a few bug's done that way that just look cool...even the one that started this thread is cool in it's own wayl..
But those that still have thier tin, dropped with a healthy rake..man, they just look perfect!!
But what the hell do i know..I've never owned a bug..Only it's brother the 911..
Each one has it's place for sure, just like some of the stuff we all build..

what's even crazier is that he chopped up a real hebmuller, one of the rarest VW's ever.

I'll admit, I am HUGE VW Fan. Owned a couple of Bus's and Bugs back in the day. In fact I still have an oval, 3 fold ragtop bug with semaphores waiting to be restored. But I never liked the whole vw rod look. It's like transforming something into what it's not. Something like a white kid from the suburbs with Fubu and big ass gold chains on.

But I do admit that Heb and the one KCW did is pretty sick. But the others I've seen out there look like caca.

    FUCK YEAH!

Thats my car! Glad you guys like....and hate it. I've built several cal-look VWs(see this months Hot VWs for my 54 feature). No real reason as to why I chopped and dropped it so much other than to do the most I could. If I wanted another cal-look VW or a 32 Ford I would have built one.

I belive Jesse's car is "The Gates of Heaven"...Very very sweet car.

    Late, Franz

  17. That isn't a real Hebmuller.

  18. Not a real Hebmuller either. That one started life as a '64 Beetle Sedan,
and was converted into a Hebmuller lookalike by Dave Rosenstiel.

My favorite is the Geoff's Hebrod too.

BTW. Here's what I built for my kid the past year. "The KidVRod". It's all steel and most of the body is built from genuine VW parts... There is a thread somewhere here too about it.. ;)

Bugs are cool, i've had 2 pre 60's in my teens, it was actually the most affordable thing for me to wrench on, it taught me alot of basic mechanics and I will own an oval rag one of these days!!
