  11. model.A.keith: I've read that story several times, seen one of those photos before but not the rest. Surprisingly revealing images.
Thank you very kindly for sharing-Mark

A very fitting tribute Keith. "The Fog Master" passed away 73 years ago on the 27th.

Photos will be difficult to find i assume. I don't even know what the winner, J.D.Newkirk, drove in the race.

You can try giving Trish Long a buzz or send her an e-mail. [email protected] She is the El Paso Times' archivist.

Another place to try is the Arizona Republic News. I've contacted them many times when i was researching motorcycle related stuff. Took some time to get a response but a kid from Australia is not the first priority, i guess.

Thanks for the info. Only problem with newspaper photos is they show very little detail. I have just found out that ASU has a very large collection of early photos, I will check with them. This race ended at the fair grounds on the same day as the cactus derby, what a day.
    Thanks
    Dave

  20. Thanks for posting. Have read about the accident before, knew the details, but seeing the aftermath is still shocking.

Three photos showing the damaged Pipe driven by Lucien Hautvast. This unfortunate accident happened in the race for Kaiserpreis cars at the Circuit des Ardennes. I'm not sure what caused the car to veer off course although one source claim's a broken steering knuckle was to blame.

The superb looking Swiss made Piccard-Piktet or Pic-Pic as it is better known, and driver Paul Tournier at the 1914 GP de l"A.C.F.

The Crouch 12/24 Sports two seater with 4 cylinder Anzani engine.

The information with this photo says that Alfred Moss is driving and the year is 1923 but the location is unknown. I have Moss driving a similar car which failed to finish in the III Junior Car Club "200" Voiturette Race at Brooklands in 1923 wearing the number 24. ??...

    Nice photo nevertheless.
