The ADM is by far the best (IMO) automotive museum in Southern California. It is a non-profit museum and admission is your generosity at the front door. The museum is about 2 miles South of the LA Airport in El Segundo and is in a old brick facade building that you won't see until your right in front of it. On Sunday's, for a small fee, the ADM drives visitors around town in cars from the collection. If you have a limited time while you are in the Los Angeles area I recommend the ADM Museum and the NHRA Museum in Pomona.

They are very nice - they are indeed off the beaten path but worth the diversion.
