I like the G&S Lounge on South 1st. Tons of different beers, full bar, decent jukebox, air hockey, pool tables, pinball, usually pretty decent chicks of the hipster persuasion. also good- -Cucharacha on 6th -Casino El camino on 6th -Longbranch on the Eastside -Lovejoy's of 6th is good-lot's of beer variety/pool tables/darts -Dog and Duck off Guadalupe- site of the Park n' Hang every other Monday. Also lot's of beer variety. I'm assuming you know about the Continental so I just left that off, but if you don't, get thee to South Congress and check it out
nice country cruise out to the Salt Lick BBQ..pickup a family pack of goodies, go across the street to Camp Ben on Onion creek, build a fire, break out the icechest and guitars, start scratchin the dogs, do a little skatin on the dancefloor, now thats hangin out!....
Get a sammy at Jo's across the street from the Continental Club. Stop by the S. Austin Speed Shop, too.
If you get a chance to see Guy Forsyth at any of the Austin clubs, Don't miss him. He is great. Saw him last night in Dallas. He warmed up for Marsha Ball at the Granada. Both shows were fantastic. He played for an hour and a half and Marsha Ball played for two and a half hours without a break. If you like New Orleans Blues/Jazz, go to see either of them.
