Just was awarded a trip by Chrysler and Fiat to Austin, TX for the U.S. Grand Prix for the weekend of November 15,16 & 17th. I should have some spare time (since I don't golf or care for a spa treatment) and would like to know what are the "must sees" while I'm there. Any car shows going on? Thanks, Jack
do golf just to tell your buddies back in Chicago who do that it was sunny and beautiful in November. http://www.austinchronicle.com/ http://www.austin360.com/
Hit the Strugglers show, meet the locals and they'll tell you all you need to know. Austin's a freindly town with a ton of shit to see and do. Just hit the streets, you can't go wrong !
Strugglers car show Saturday, and cruise to Top Notch Saturday night. That's where all the cool kids will be.
Be preppared for MASSIVE GRIDLOCK. Took an hour and 1/2 to get 5000 people into the track last Sat. for a "run/walk the track on foot" event.
Gridlock? You're talking to a guy from Chicago where gridlock is normal traffic. We always speak in time and not mileage! This is a trip we won for being number 1 Fiat Dealer in Midwest. Supposedly, they have buses, VIP and all that shit. Really, I'm more excited about visiting Austin than the race.
