The Bonneville helmet is on its way to you. You should have it in a couple of days. Thanks for helping me support the HAMB. Wear it in good health -- and keep collecting signatures! Mike
Mike, thank you I've been talking to a lot of people for signathures. If it gets here I'll don it at the rattle can nats.Hope you can come.--TV
Tom -- I'm considering driving my newly acquired F-1 to the RCN. Just depends on how it performs on the road this week and if I feel it will make the trip without a lot of agony; a 55-year-old truck has potential for lots of mischief, even when it's a nice one. I'll look for the helmet! Mike
Not to hijack this post, but where is the best place to get a "Pith Helmut". Thinking about Bonneville next year. Thanks, Chris Nelson Kansas Oh yea, I kinda like the one that my mailman has but he will not sell it.
Chris -- Here's a link to a real-deal, lightweight military pith helmet, the one that's been used since the '30s. http://www.armynavysales.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=01&Category_Code=HLM And here's one for the poly helmet used by the USPS -- same traditional shape, different material. http://www.frostproof.com/catalog/s45O.html Finally, not quite traditional but pretty interesting nonetheless. http://www.villagehatshop.com/pith_helmet.html Good hunting!
