Technical Ash tray installation for a 1940 Ford dash.

    I am trying to reinstall the ashtrays in the dash of my '40 Coupe and I can't figure out how the retainers fit. Does anybody have a photo or an illustration that shows how to install them?

    HI Yes mid to late 40 tip out , early 40 open up and down like a garage door
