Armstong never marketed to the general public, i.e. Joe Gearhead. Their tools were normally sold to industry via industrial mill supply houses. Used to see a lot of them in the factories. Very high quality and always black.

Yep, excellant. I have Proto, Snap-On and old S&K in my tool chests and Armstrong is on par with the others. I keep a set of Craftsman just to lend out:)
  7. I have some SK, Proto, Bonney, Snap on, Craftsman, Mac, Indestro, etc, all of which I've had for over 40 years, but I've never heard of Armstrong. When I worked for a Pontiac, Cadillac, GMC dealer and any tools the factory assemblers left in the vehicles by mistake were Snap on.

Not always black, I have many Armstrong sockets, ratchets and wrenches that are plated. When Williams was still in business they were forging Armstrong as well as Proto, Craftsman and many others.

    Very high quality

That is a old name for sure. They are top of the line forged chrome vanadium. JC
  11. I have a partial set of a combination wrenchs I've had for years and some odd sockets too, a good product. They may have been from my dad's stash.

I see that MSC carries them and has deals on them now and then.

  12. Yes they are good and have a good warranty. We sell them at Fastenal.

I took a 1/2" drive ratchet w/15" handle to my local Fastenal for warranty repair or replace. They wouldn't stand behind it, because I didn't purchase it from Fastenal.
