Are these F-1 wheels?

I bought these wheels at the Big 3 swap in San Diego. I think they're for a F-1 but I'm not sure.

I only have the two for the rear on my new project, I want 2 more for the front. So if anyone recognizes them let me know so I know what I'm looking for.

Have you measured the bolt pattern? 5x5 1/2"?

Oh yeah I measured them before I bought them, they're 5 on 5 1/2. I know they're early Ford truck wheels, I'm just not sure which one. KK

I've got a pair of 15x6s on my front end. I want to find some 15x5s as I think mine look too chunky with the truck tires on the front.

They appear to have been reversed. Or had a wider rim put on Ford truck centers. Definetly Ford truck though. How wide is the rim?

They're reversed and widened to 8". I think they're F1 or F100 centers, I'm just not sure. KK

Tire stores sold this type wheel to Ford owners carrying big campers during the 1970s - the older wheels don't have the "safety rim" bead the feds mandated in the 70s. Some have thicker metal for higher load rating.

They could be F-1, F-100, or '48 Merc as far as the centers go ... technically, they're just aftermarket wheels for a Ford (or Dodge or Cornbinder) truck, as FoMoCo didn't supply a wheel using this center with a safety rim ...

Didn't F-1s have the 3 external lumps rather than the 4 small internal lumps (F-100) to hold the hubcap on?

Nope. The only difference in the centers 48 to 62 are the date codes. 63 is when the centers changed.

You seem to have alot of knowledge about these wheels. Are rims with this center fairly common? I want to match them up to some reversed 6" or 7" wide wheels for the front. KK

They are F100 wheels and they have been reversed.

Did you get those from Hank at the swap?

Also I have a front one if you need it 15x6

...keep your eye's open for wheels that have the center cut for "jeep-hubs"...they cut the center out and they CRACK at the lug hole...thus becoming a "door-stop"....

Since the last factory wheels were 62, they are not real common, but they were sold aftermarket into the late 70's That said, there were several million made.

I have a pair of 15 by 6 reversed wheels, Ford centers, Buick rims, for sale. Old School. PM me
