Are Pitted Connecting Rods as Bad as I think?

Been disassembling a flathead that was "rebuilt" a while back with low miles (<100). The upper part of the connecting rods from the wrist pins halfway down all have pits in them and a few have pits on the sides on the big ends that would ride next to each other on the crank. Should I just throw these in the trash, or is this acceptable to run in an engine?

Pictures of the pits would help. I assume these are 8BA style rods? If so, there are plenty around for not much bucks; if you are doing a high-dollar build I would shuck 'em. If the pits can be polished out easily, that would be easiest but would require re-balancing

Yes, they are 8BA rods. The pitting looks pretty bad, I'll try to get some pictures up this week.
