A friend of mine has got a chance to pick up a 4dr frame for cheap and was wondering if the frame is the same as his 2dr. He needs a whole new frame due to rust issuses anyways, so if it works, why not?...

should be, converts and hard tops are supposed to be heavier, but they bolt in the same.

put it on a caprice or s10 they go cheap plus you get all the goodies for suspension parts, drop spindles et.c ??? alot of work might want to see what else you can fit under there and get best bang for tha buck.. (you can sellthat front end off those 54 car frames as some of the older lowrider guys would cut the chevy truck frame up front and weld in that car front end. like the ol days before camaro and nova frames)

all 49-54's are the same except convertibles which have a big X-member in the middle. slight differences in the trans crossmember after 51.

Not exactly the same, minor differences in the body braces/mounting points after '52.
