ardun heads

    I've been wandering how did ardun heads work on flatheads -never been inside one -did they convert to ohv or just change the combustion chamber? school me on this thanks

    See above, hemi heads, converted to OVH, kit came with plates to block off flathead exhaust ports, and a 2-2 barrel manifold...but the pushrods were heavy, and the heads tended to crack around the spark plug hole, still I put 70 runs on a set, 40 on straight nitro, kept it together with WilCap main caps....wish I still had my set

    Kit came with a 1 x 2 manifold.

    Ardun takes the fun from a Flathead....

    I rather have a real hemi than an Ardun Flathead

    You're right about one option, the first photo shows 2x1 manifold, but the other shot, from '47, appears to have 2-barrels...

  9. In regard to carb's, keep in mind the original intended use was for trucks. More power with resonable economy.
     
  10. Note that the 2nd is using a set of developmental heads. Different water ports than the production versions. Intake also looks to be a fabricated one made from tube and bends.
