That a drag, I had similar news earlier this month. Keep us posted on what you end up doing.

I recently saw a 'B' block that had a 4''x4'' area in the front of the block that was completely braised over and ground smooth. It was going to be rebuilt. I think a lot of blocks that that would have been considered trash years ago are going to be repaired and used as time goes by.

modern practices are changing there are even sealers that can be uswd in the water chambers of a block to seal minor cracks though I dont know I would want to spend money on a block like that.

I have an 'Irontite bench' it is used to pump hot resin into castings to seal them.

Works to seal castings that weep too.

Congratulations on "waking up" another sleeping banger.

I'm assuming that the smoke coming out of the exhaust is what is left of what you used to un-stick it.

Found mine for US$200 ..... you start with their cylinder head test bench. In out case I have a 'Cal-rod' heater, A marine pump, 15 gal drum, two ball valves and a inline pressure gauge.

I'll try to scan the manual so you all can see what's needed.

I'm sure you can build it of local materials

Irontite is cheapest in 5 gal drums

I got lucky.. There's a shop, Chaplin Cylinder Heads, That weld heads... They heat the head in a kiln to bright orange, weld up the problems, and bury it hot sand and let it cool slowly for several days... Their rep is pretty good, and they're just about an hour away.

    Calling them Monday.
    Might save the Riley yet!
