    Hi guys,

    Im looking for Appleton Spotlights...But I dont know exactly what I should put in my 1951 Mercury...I like the ones Im posting on the pics...Any suggestions?

    series 112 or 552......those look like 552. 112's will have a more pointed bucket.

    Thanks man!...this is exactly what Im trying to learn..What does it mean? Series 112...series 552?...Sorry Im totally not aware of that...:confused:

    112 or 552 are the series or model number. These are the type that were predominantly found on the early customs. 112's are earlier than 552's. Either are going to be pricey. You can find dummies too. (Although a lot of folks aren't too fond of them here) Here is a link to dummy 112's. http://www.kingofdice.com/lights-pipes.asp

    I ran genny Appleton 112's on my old Merc.

    Her's a pic of my Merc withh 552's.I don't know how well you can see them though.112 or 552 is a model number.

  9. 112's were not used that often only on real early customs. the vast majority used the 552's. Both are hard to find and pretty pricey.

    Also try searching Appleton with user Chad S on here and you will find lots of info. Chad is about the most knowledgable guy on here when it comes to Appletons

    i am puttin 112's on my 40 merc. got lucky and it came with a drivers side lamp. and they will be in working order. no dummies
