With an AOD does it matter where the shifter was located on the car (floor or column)?

  3. Not really, but it does matter how the shift lever on the transmission is oriented- if the lever on the AOD is facing up, it's for a column shift. It it's facing down, it's for a floor shift.
You can flip the lever either way but involves dropping the pan and filter and I'm to lazy to go into a long explanation of what is involved.

    You can google it-
If I recall correctly, Lokar has pretty good instructions for installing their lever- same-same to flip the stock lever.
