I will be traveling to San Antonio this weekend for a 2 week vacation and was wondering if there is any car related things to see or do this time of year. If not what other things might I go see and do?
It's just a short drive to Lockhart for a show called Hot Rods & Hatters. Also a great place to sample what a few people consider to be the best BBQ in the area. February 1st right on the town square. Great bands, vendors, etc. too.
Short drive up I35 to San Marcos, check out http://www.dicksclassicgarage.com/ Vintage Air is in San Antonio and I believe welcomes visitors. http://www.vintageair.com/index.asp Jeff Lilly's shop...I'd call http://www.jefflilly.com/ Great "classics" dealer...shop till you drop http://aeclassiccars.com/ Car parts http://www.onestopclassiccarparts.com/store/store.php might be a good place to ask about other local "stuff". Last one for me, hot rod hangout, weekends. http://www.sanantoniospigstand.com/index.htm
Be sure and visit the Esquire Bar near the Riverwalk........longest bar east of the Pecos. I like it because it isn't touristy considering it's location.
hot rod night on Wednesday @ Texas pride bbq on I10 @1604 and Friday night our club Alamo city rods hang out @the pig stand on Austin hwy rd.
