    Hello everyone,

Anyone used the roof off an 85 Camaro for a roof insert on a 31 model A coupe. I'm at that point in my project and I have an old scrape 1985 Camaro in the back tree line and would like to use it if it will work. If anyone has used one please give me any pointers you can on how to do it. Thanks

I used a mid 80's buick FWD hood to fill my A roof. It has two grooves in it that looked nice and followed the body shape.

Two things to consider, assuming it is big enough.

    1. Is the crown correct for the shape of the A roof ?

    2. Is the guage of the metal heavy enough ? Metal was getting pretty thin on a lot of stuff by '85.

    And a third item:
Are you an REO Speedwagon or Styxx fan? Or do you rock a mullet? Camaro sheet metal on a hot rod may turn you into a stoner....

That is funny stuff right there!!!!!!!!:D

I have the camaro for parts for a project I was working on, and when I finished the project I just pushed it into the tree line. Out of sight out of mind.

I thought I read somewhere somebody used a roof off a camaro for this purpose (old age is wrecking hell on my memory), but after two nights of searching I can't find anything so I thought I would post it.

i used a 1970's chevy truck hood piece and welded it over the opening - lots of filler to get it contoured right, but it came out great....cheap too.
