Anyone use the "Steer Clear Box" or....

    ......make your own? I need more pedal space in my model A, so want to mount the column higher on the firewall. These chain-drive boxes are cool, but, for $600.00 I think there's a better way. Thoughts?

    Lot of guys think it's too expensive and certainly not traditional. Even so I like it and am considering using one in my 26 RPU.

    Mounted inside and painted to hide the aluminum it would be perfect in giving me the footroom I want and in keeping the upper end of my column up higher and as a result having a better steering wheel angle -location.

    I'll make my decision when I get to mocking up the column and seating-steering.
