i've had lots of pontiacs, tempest/lemans/gto, firebirds and several big cars. the orange catalina's from the early nineties. i think the only thing i'd change is the painted bumpers, but that was how i rolled back then :p it got sold, painted candy brandywine, and was last seen languishing in the parking lot of an upholstery shop. a couple of years ago, i heard that the guy was looking for me, to see if i wanted to buy it back. it was a great car, but i hate that color, and the work they put out at that upholstery shop was horrific!

ol' rusty is my newest acquisition, a return to the pontiac fold, a fairly rare (first year) 2+2. i need the quarter panel trim and a straight(er) front bumper. it'll get a fresh interior, an overdrive and hand controls. we'll see what happens to the body later...

Here's some shots of my '62 Tempest. Ran into a guy @ the Scottsdale Pavilions weekly car show who's got a '61 Coupe (seems to be one of only 10 left on the road) who was a wealth of info for me! I got it because it was the first and only finned car that had a 4 banger in it! Even with the tired mill in it blowing smoke I STILL get 27mpg:D

Glad to see your little '62. I've always had a thing for the 61-3 Tempests. I've always dreamed of doing an injected straight axle '61. Then again, I dream about alot of stuff.

Thought I had some pictures but apparently they've all been lost over the years. I was a Pontiac fanatic growing up and had '57, '58, and '59 2-dr hardtops and a '61 convert. The '61 had all the good stuff from the factory including 4-speed stick, tri-power, etc. Wish I'd been smart enough to hang on to at least one of 'em.

Now I can get back to work on my 3 window, once I build up some funds.

  28. DragginGTO,
Interestingly enough, when we were developing the engine's performance on the Dyno, we tried a Bathtub intake. A friend named Randy Williams wanted us to test one of his Bathtubs to see how it stacked up against the Wentzler tunnel. IDENTICAL numbers. Looks like Pontiac had it right, all those years ago...:D
