.. i have some components of a 58-59 vette grill (just teeth so far)and wondered if this was successful treatment in a 58 ford grill opening.. show your pics if ya got some thanks PAPERDOG
I don't remember ever seeing it done, but I don't see why it wouldn't look great. I'm getting ready to put one in my '55 chevy.
why not just do it? someone has to be first-or just leave grill mesh in and use some wire, or whatever, and hang the teeth-take a picture-if you like it make a permanent set up-your ride to do what you want-not a common ride for most to have much less modify.
You would have to build a mount so that they appear to float in the opening but that shouldn't be that hard. Someone just did a thread on building such a mount and mounting a floating grill.
okay now what info i am lookin for will be solved by a picture my stuff is in two different counties i have the teeth but not the bar they mount on so some dimensions are just guess's on my part ... overall width of stock bar with teeth attached teeth spacing height of teeth related to opening ... ya ya ya i know just do it but like any homework assignment a little background study is helpful when i get my stuff together i will relay any info i find seems odd that i will be the first at this attempt.. gosh jumping in head first maks me squemish???
This is the most frustrating thread I've ever read. I keep getting this picture in my head of Mr. Bean being afraid to get in the pool.
O.K., so this is a '57 w/ what looks like a '54 Chevy sedan grille, but its something. This may be the same car that was in the Mooneyes ads back around 20 years ago. That one was painted red and had wheel disc covers, but same grille. Later, Kinky6
Just looked this morning, the one from the Mooneyes ad was a red '57 hardtop 2-door, full wheelcovers and kickstand exhaust, but same '54 Chevy grille. Anyone have a photo of that one? Later, Kinky6
