I know its a 100000 lb press, but what is it for and who made it? The work surfce is si small, and the name plate is shot. I tried to put it on metalmeet, but the site just keeps checking if I am a robot, and wont let me in. IMG_2552.jpeg

It looks like it may have been used for some sort of lab testing. It's certainly not a production piece of machinery.

  5. I second that it’s a testing machine of some sort.

C-clamp. Even though it's partially obscured by that huge tester thing...I can see it's a c-clamp.

It was in a shop that did fab work, it was next to a big rotary shear and a very big brake that would do 1/2 "plate. It has a 1 inch diameter ram, I just cant figure what they were doing with it.

It was not likely used in a shop. It's a piece of lab equipment used for some sort of test.

  15. I think that was the press that eliminated the Terminator.

I wonder if it could be repurposed as an Iron Worker.
Could punch a hole in about anything, I’d think.

How about more pictures, the one side seems to have some sort of controls maybe, can't see it??
Year's ago when I was a Press Operator 30 ton up to 250 ton, and Large Housing Spot Welder, the machines looked similar in the Press Room but bigger and the Large Housing Spot Welder we named "Big Bertha" were from the 1940's one as old as WWI.

    More pictures please...

If the fab shop made any material handling type of hooks or something, maybe it's a load tester.

Adam Bradley spitz-en-sparken, so it dates to no later than 1910.
Acco Helicoid gauges were bought out by Emerson. Not sure when they stopped making them.
What does the blue busted-up looking label on the top say? A something... Chicago? Colorado? Serial number...

    Cheers,

I agree with @Budget36. Maybe repurposed as a hole punch.
