I have a an offer on a car for sale from someone in the Netherlands. I know that region is buying a lot of cars, but overseas sales still throw up a big red flag for me. I ask about Jeff Karls because the buyer told me they recently bought a '54 Chevy from him, and that he's on the HAMB. I'm looking for a warm fuzzy...
Just sold my 27 T to Germany no big deal. Wire transfer and sellers import agent handled all the details. All I had to do was be available for the transporter to pick it up.
Hey daddio I am real and am currently awaiting the wire transfer on my 54. All in all so far these Dutch buyers have asked me for nothing. They seem on the up and up. Especially makes me feel reassured that they're willing to drop a name on here. They sent the wire last Thursday while I was at SEMA. So I should be getting notice today or tomorrow from my bank. -JK
Hey Jeff, good to hear the car is sold.... Kinda makes me sad at the same time... Sent from my DROID device using the TJJ mobile app
Always something else on the horizon Jeff. Got a lot of good miles in this summer. The ad is still here until I see the cash. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=747822
As stated above, my experience with International wire transfers is 3-4 days, no less. Good job getting a buyer for both of you
Thanks Jeff, I feel a bit better about it now. The guy's English is pretty good, but I'm always overly cautious about money... ya know? Thanks to the rest of you also... all input helps! And thanks for the PM StudeDude, I truly appreciate it!
Why the red flag? You get money for a car and you send it away on a transport after all is paid for. What's the stress? The buyer should be the stressed one. Sending you money for a car he can't get to and being far away. Just don't ship away anything until it's paid for. Sell the car to Netherlands and have a cold one while waiting for the wire transfer.
Agreed ..... Waiting to pick up for an Aussie now because of wire transfer Seems they have slowed a bit lately in posting here in the states Jim
Make the most of it, guys. European governments seem intent on stopping us enjoy our old toys, and are trying to tax or legislate our hobby out of existence. You'll all be complaining when no one is buying your cars That '54 is nice!
Jeff, thanks so much for following up. Nice guys over there, my buyer is in limbo at the moment so the car is still for sale. Sent from my DROID device using the TJJ mobile app
