The Black car is the same car... been in the family since 57.
The chopped one was in mags. The Black one is my old race car. There are a few popular Black ones.

Probably the famous one you're thinking of belongs to Crisman. My headlights,
rear wheel openings, louvered hood, bumperguards and wheels are differnt.
His has a 428 for power. Mine a 429. They're both Black though:)

My black sedan has good picture in "Hot Rod Magazine", November '08 on page 41. A good shot of it with my wife driving in the rain on Power Tour.

My Custom sedan has a 312 with a factory VR57 Paxton/Mcculloch Supercharger. It is in a slick black primer right now with a lowered stance and some big Torque Thrusts. It can be seen on youtube "supercharged 57 ford iamflashman"

I drive it all over the country and have raced in the Y-block Shootout in Ohio twice, winning in '03.

I have a bunch other '57 Ford sas do my Dad and brothers.

Here's a list of some of '57 stuff. (I have not learned to post photos yet).
    '57 Custom Sedan, Black,312 Supercharged
    '57 T-bird, Black, 460/C6, Baer Brakes
    '57 2dr Ranch Wagon, 5.0 F.I./AOD, 4wh discs
'57 Custom Sedan, Red/White, 460/C6, Street Strip car
    '57 Ranchero, Black, 312 Supercharged
A bunch of parts cars too.....

    My dad has.
57 Retractable, Black white, owned for over 35 years.
58 Edsel, Red/White 514BBF runs 10's was on "Pinks All Out" you tube "Worlds Fastest Edsel Pinks"
    58 Retract Turquoise/White, unrestored with 50,000mi

My old motto was " Saving the World One '57 Ford at a Time."

You can see I am really into them.

I've had mine for a year now and as you can see things are not going real fast. Good news is in that year I got a new front end under it, engine rebuilt waiting on the stand, firewall painted, and most importantly all that is paid for.

I am the proud owner of a 1957 Ford Custom 2-door sedan, the most beautiful of the Ford Family of cars. It is a mild custom powered by a 351 CID Cleveland, C6 with a Ford 9" and very comfortable modern interior, bucket seats front and rear custom dash, floor console, built to be cruised in style. We have put over 50,000 miles on it since completion nearly 20 years ago and it is still a steady show winner.

Recently sold my 1957 Ford Ranchero, which was a daily driver.

Tried to add pics of the both of them and my 1960 Ford Fairlane 500 Club Coupe Full Dress Sheriffs' Patrol but haven't figured out the picture thing yet. Oops, I may have figured out the pics.

Jeff, FYI. the black '57 Ford listed as a "300" is actually either a Custom coupe or a Business Coupe. Same wheel base as the '57 Custom 300 but different side stainless(Fairlanes and Fairlane 500's had a longer wheel base wherein the Customs, Rancheros and Station Wagons all had the same wheel base). The basic Custom has the stainless from just behind the front door on back where the Custom 300 has the stainless starting on the front fender all the way back about midway up the side of the vehicle. And this is probably one of the nicest Customs I have seen.

Yep, that's nice. Two door post, bench seat, 4 speed, dog dish hubcaps....Sweet.
I still remember going for a ride in my Grandpa's brand new '57. Thought that was the coolest car around.

Very nice Fairlane 500! Did you know that the '58 Ford Hood is a direct bolt on and gives you a natural flow-through hood scoop when you take the plastic insert out and put a screen in its place? Looks really cool! ranchero57

As Barris seen it at the 1962 Nationals in Indianapolis, Indiana, he liked the idea and workmenship, not to many semi/radical 1957 Fords Kustomized then or know. Owned by
a guy who ran a gas station south of Chicago, Illinois.

I can't believe that no one has put George Poteet's 57 Wagon in here. Man this car blew my mind when I saw it at the SR Nationals one year. Troy really hit the nail on the head on this one. It's my favorite one of george's cars.
