Anybody going to the Charlotte Auto Fair Aug 25-29?

  1. This one definitely had it's share of high's and low's...

Talked to the guy with the '41 Olds front clip for $50. Asked him how much he wanted for just the hood (would make a great speedster tail). He looked at his price tag, hemmed and hawed... "couldn't get less than $50 for the hood alone"... go figure

Then there was the set of front and rear axles (complete with wheels) for a '34 Chevy marked for $200. I looked at them, talked to the guy (I only needed the brakes), came back a couple hours later. All of the sudden, it was $200 PER axle and WITHOUT the wheels...

Things ended up well as I did get a pair of brake hubs and pair of 19" wires for the speedster for $20 :D

Banner was my fault. I was just too hot and lazy (mostly the later) to climb up atop of big Blue (My hauler) and hosit the banner. Sorry guys it won't happen again. But you will always find us at BBB 004, been at the same spot since the first Auto Fair, Spring and Fall.

  4. Show wasn't that bad. I picked up a 39 merc grill, a bunch of 40 merc clocks and gauge panels, a set of nice blc lights cheap, and a heavy 32 axle.
I missed a Thickstun pm-7 for $100.00 by a few seconds. All and all better than sitting at home.

I had a great time at the show. I pick up nice 1934 Ford grille for $400.00, Elco gas tank for $100.00, Moon gas pedal for $30.00, 1936 steer column complete w/ key $20.00, Nice 1940 dash complete for $55.00, and original flathead engine stand for $85.00. I will there again next year.
